Best Food to Enjoy After Consuming Cannabis
Most cannabis enthusiasts are familiar with the many benefits this versatile plant provides. Increased relaxation, better sleep, and reduced anxiety are just a few reasons why cannabis continues to be used for medical and recreational purposes. As cannabis continues to become more accepted and legalized across the country, researchers are uncovering the variety of ways in which marijuana can be beneficial for people of all backgrounds, including athletes.
“The Munchies” is a well-known phenomenon and an inside joke among cannabis lovers, and there is a very good chemical reason for this. We all know THC directly affects the brain, that all-important gray matter responsible for controlling every aspect of our lives. We also know that our brains directly affect our thinking and our moods; we call it a “head high” when we introduce THC to our brain receptors. Going a step further, our brain also controls our appetites, which seem to increase greatly during marijuana usage. Perception is everything, and food is a great thing to think about when high.
At Mile High Dispensary, this is one of our favorite parts about smoking weed! And we know this is true for many other people too. A good high is often all about the food, and because that’s true we’ve compiled a short list of some of our munchies to eat while stoned.
- Cookies, brownies, and other sweets. Your olfactory senses become extra sensitive when you’re high, and is there anything better than a kitchen filled with sweet, melty aromas while there are cookies in the oven? Bonus: You also get to lick the batter spoon during clean-up!
- Pizza, Chinese food, and other takeout. These simple classics are a staple for cannabis lovers. They’re good on their own, but when you’ve got a great indica strain rolling though your head, these go-to foods just seem to taste even better. And let’s face it, cooking an elaborate meal is usually the last thing you want on your mind when you’re stoned. We prefer getting comfy on the couch, putting on a movie, and having the food delivered right to our doorsteps.
- Nachos. Smoking weed is a social event and, like nachos, is best enjoyed when shared with friends. Cannabis also has anxiety-reducing effects, which makes people a lot more adventurous when it comes to their munchies. Getting together with friends and making a big pile of nachos with endless (and sometimes unusual) toppings is fun, easy, and delicious.
